Layers – Chapter 2 Page 11

When they returned to her car, Greg could practically see the wheels of Paula’s brain in overdrive. As they settled into their respective seats, a mischievous grin slowly came over Paula’s face.

“What are you smiling at?”, Greg asked.

“I think you’re really going to enjoy this”, she replied.

“Yeah? How’s that?”

“I think the first place to start digging is through a woman named Tatyana”, Paula answered.

“And why do you think I’ll take some joy in that?”

“Because she’s probably hotter than I am”, Paula said, her mischievous grin now turning into a full blown smile.

“Who is she and why do you think she might be able to help?”, he asked.

“She’s Boris Reznik’s mistress. He confides in her”.

“And what makes you think she would divulge any information she might have to you?”

Paula’s already wide smile grew broader.

“Let’s just say that I have a special relationship with her”.

It didn’t take them but ten or fifteen minutes to reach Tatyana’s apartment building.

When she opened the door to let her guests in, Greg immediately understood what Paula was hinting at. She was wearing a short mini black leather  skirt, a hot pink halter that she was literally busting out of, and very high heeled boots. She reeked of sex.

She gave Paula a big hug, and kissed her full on the mouth.

“Who is this?”, Tatyana asked Paula, as she gave Greg the once over.

“A good friend of mine, sweetie”, Paula replied.

Tatyana flashed Greg a quick, false smile, and led the two into her living room.

When Paula was about to sit down next to Greg on the sofa opposite Tatyana, she protested.

“No, no dear. I haven’t seen you in a while. Come, sit close to me. I miss having you nearby”.

As soon as Tatyana was finished, Paula didn’t hesitate and sat herself down right next to Greg.

“We have a better view of each other this way”, Paula said to Tatyana, staring directly into her eyes.

Tatyana began to giggle.

“You haven’t changed, dear. I’m glad to see that. Now, what can I do for you”, she said, as the two women looked at each other as if they were the only two people in the room.
